We were unexpectedly socked in by a nasty storm system that settled over Desolation Wilderness last night. We all got mildly hypothermic while attempting to cross an exposed ridge - 40 mph gusts, steady rain and mid 40 degree temperatures. This led us to bail out off the PCT down to Squaw ski resort. We are grateful to be getting dry and resting now. Tomorrow the storm should be more mild and we will be heading back up to the trail.

I just wrote a post on the High Sierra for Muscles Not Motors that you can read here.
